How to Install a Stingray Hydrofoil
- 1). The hydrofoil must be installed with the boat out of the water. Ensure that the boat engine is off, the kill switch is engaged and the transmission is in the neutral position. Ensure that your hydrofoil package contains the following: four bolts, four self-locking nuts and four rubber washers.
- 2). Place the hydrofoil on the cavitation plate. It should sit as far forward as possible. Using the pre-drilled holes on the hydrofoil as a guide, drill four 1/4-inch holes in the cavitation plate.
- 3). Bolt the hydrofoil loosely to the cavitation plate to ensure a proper fit. The bolts should fit easily. Once you have ensured a proper fit, remove the hydrofoil from the plate.
- 1). Place the rubber washers around each hole on the underside of the hydrofoil. Place the hydrofoil back onto the cavitation plate, being sure to line up the holes on the hydrofoil with the ones you have drilled in the plate.
- 2). Place the four self-locking nuts in the pre-drilled holes on the hydrofoil. The white side of the nuts should be facing up.
- 3). Insert the four bolts from the bottom up. The shorter bolts should be used in the two holes located at the front of the hydrofoil. Use the screwdriver to hand-tighten the bolts.
