How to Take Apart a GE Profile Dryer

    • 1). Unplug the dryer to prevent accidental electrical shock that could result in death.

    • 2). Move the dryer away from the wall, allowing you space to work.

    • 3). Locate the spring clips located on each side of the front panel. Use a putty knife or a flat-head screw driver to release the clips by inserting the putty knife and pushing back on the clip, releasing it from its hole. Lift the cabinet top off the dryer.

    • 4). Locate the screws that are in the cabinet front panel to the cabinet top. These screws will be found in older models only. Open of the dryer to find these screws. Slid the cabinet top forward, after you have them, and off.

    • 5). Loosen the screws located in each side of the bottom of the front panel. There will be one screw on both the left and right side of the machine. Locate the screws at the top inside of the dryer panel and remove them. Remove the two screws that you loosened and set them aside.

    • 6). Pull the wire harness our from its base by pulling the door connection out. Remove the panel.
