Why The Caveman Diet Is A Healthier Way To Eat

It takes 2 million years for the human body to adapt to a significant diet change.
We have changed ours in just 10,000.
That is the equivalent of just 500 generations.
For starters - when caveman was here, they ate very few carbohydrates, infact grains and oats were only eaten in times of extreme starvation.
They made up approximately 1% of the caveman's diet, compare that to today and refined grains make up approximately 60% of our daily intake of food.
That is a huge swing in diet change - add that to the added sugars and processed meats/foods that we now eat and our diet is practically unrecognisable to what is was just 500 generations ago.
Its a shame really because with this diet change we have seen a huge increase in cancers, obesity, heart disease, diabetes, food allergies, irritable bowel syndrome and so many more other conditions that were not around in the times of our ancestors.
This is no coincidence!!!! The Caveman Diet or otherwise known as the Paleolithic diet is a perfect work around to this problem.
This diet is basically eating as nature intends.
As a rule of thumb - ff it can't be hunted or gathered naturally then it basically isn't allowed in the diet.
This is no hardship either, you are permitted to eat a wide variety of meats that are otherwise banned in other so called "healthy diets".
A common misconception about caveman is that they were not as healthy as we are today, which couldn't be further from the truth.
It is a fact that if you lived past infancy then your live expectancy was well into the 60′s - this is impressive considering that there was no healthcare and no standard of living.
I would love to see how long we would now if we still ate in this manner, its a shame that we dont - we have become lazy with our diet.
We have become a race of convenience eaters and with it our health has slowly deteriorated, within the last 100 years our health has deteriorated drastically! Since the later half of the 20th century we have been low-fatted to an unhealthy lifestyle.
If we were to all eat as a caveman then our health would improve, and very quickly too.
By reverting back and eating in the manner of the caveman diet we can see a huge benefit to our health.
Waiting lists at hospitals would be shorter and the levels of obesity would plummet.
It would be fantastic! I am not suggesting that you completely stop eating all carbohydrates or deprive yourself of any treats that you occasionally have but think about changing what you eat and look to the caveman as inspiration.
Eat as nature intended.
Reduce those oats and grains by 50%, your body will thank-you for it...
