    • 1). Cut a 7/8-inch-long piece 7/8-inch-wide ribbon. Lay the piece of ribbon flat over the top of the egg. Pin all four corners of the piece on the egg with flat-head pins.

    • 2). Cut a 1 3/4-inch piece of ribbon. Lay the ribbon horizontally oriented on your work surface. Fold the left edge diagonally to meet the bottom edge of the ribbon. Repeat with the right edge. Iron the folds.

    • 3). Place the folded piece of ribbon on the egg with the tip of the ribbon on the tip of the egg and the flaps of the folds against the egg. Pin the left and right corners of the ribbon in place. Make and pin three more folded ribbon pieces around the top of the egg keeping them evenly spaced.

    • 4). Add a second row of folded ribbon pieces, making them as you go, around the egg overlapping the bottom half of the first row with the points of the ribbon falling between the points of the first row. Finish covering the egg in rows of folded pieces of ribbon by continuing to add rows.

    • 5). Cut a 7/8-inch piece of ribbon. Heat seal the cut edge so of the ribbon by bringing them close to the flame of a lighter for a second. Pin the square of ribbon on the bottom of the egg with a single pin through the middle.
