The party is in full swing and the canape' tray is loaded with tiny mouthfuls of delicious looking temptations.
Now, most of the people at a party stuff themselves with so much food that they never pay any attention to their intake.
Over the course of an evening at a party studies have shown people will consume as much as and even more than two thousand calories of unnecessary food.
The trick is to prepare yourself before you get there.
At the next party or social outing you attend keep these suggestions in mind.
Just because you already know you are going to be eating out, do not skip lunch, because you will arrive at the function starving and you will probably overeat.
Eat some fruit or a jam sandwich before you leave for the party, that way you will not arrive hungry.
If you do not think there will be anything you are willing to eat at the party or social function, offer to bring vegetables, along with a low fat dip.
This way you will have something to eat at the function, eat only your contribution.
Always remember to eat slowly and really enjoy your food.
Drink lots of liquids, like soda water, fruit juice or best of all, filtered water.
Remember if you drink a diet drink (bad for you) and it has caffeine in it, expect it to have the same effect as if you had had a cup of coffee.
And my last suggestion is to avoid the bar.
Alcoholic beverages, as we all know, have no food value and it may impair your judgment about what to eat.
