The X Factor is one of the most popular TV shows in the UK.
Hosted by Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Danii Minogue and Cheryl Cole, it regularly attracts an audience of many millions of viewers.
The 2009 series has proved to be very entertaining so far.
For the first time, all of the auditions have been held in front of a live audience, which adds an additional level of entertainment to the whole thing.
We are now at the stage where the 12 finalists have been chosen for the live shows in the run up to the grand final at the end of the year.
Two of the strongest finalists are Jamie Archer, a 34-year old musician from South London and Stacey Solomon, a 19-year old mother, student and bar worker from Dagenham in Essex.
Although these two couldn't be more different, they both have a natural talent and a winning way with the audience.
Jamie looks a bit like Lenny Kravitz with his massive afro and his cool dress sense.
He's a great mix of old-school rocker and hip, trendy performer.
His audition on the show, where he sang Kings of Leon's "Sex on Fire" was phenominal and he had both the whole audience and all four judges singing along.
Stacey is your typical Essex Girl, but one with an amazing vocal talent.
Her performance of Louis Armstrong's "It's a Wonderful World" at her audition was beautifully sung and brought Eva Cassidy to mind.
Two strong contenders amongst a field of twelve.
Will one of them win the grand prize? Maybe!
