How to Clean a Computer Registery
- 1). Click on the "Start" menu and click on "run."
- 2). Type "regedit" in the box that appears. You should see the Registry Editor appear.
- 3). Click on the "File" button at the top of the registry editor, then click "Export File."
- 4). Give the file a name, then save it in a convenient location by clicking on the "Save button."
- 5). Download or purchase a registry cleaner. (See the Resource section for some recommended programs and tips on selecting a cleaner.)
- 6). Install the program. Leave everything as the default unless you know to do otherwise.
- 7). Open the program. The cleaner should direct you to the main window where there should be a button to start the scan.
- 8). Close all applications and programs other than the registry cleaner before starting your scan.
- 9). Start the scan using the button.
