    • 1). Loosen the nut on the input jack on the outside of the guitar with a small wrench. Be careful not to scratch the guitar's finish. Remove the nut and set it aside.

    • 2). Push the input jack into the guitar. Use the needle-nosed pliers to reach into the sound hole and pull the input jack and wires up through it.

    • 3). Write down the color and location of each wire on a piece of paper. You will use this as a reference for connecting the wires to the new input jack.

    • 4). Plug in the soldering iron and allow it to heat up. Place the tip of the soldering iron against the soldering point of the first wire. Once the soldering point is melted, pull the wire to release it. Repeat this step for each wire. Set the old input jack aside.

    • 5). Wrap the first wire around the contact pin on the new input jack. Heat the connection with the tip of the soldering iron. When the connection point is heated, apply solder and remove the soldering iron. Repeat this step for each wire.

    • 6). Cut a long piece of string and thread it through the hole where the input jack was installed and up through the sound hole. Thread the string through the input jack itself. Tie a washer to the string, leaving extra string on the other side of the washer.

    • 7). Pull the string through input jack hole so that the washer rests against the input jack and pulls it into the hole. Tighten the nut around the new input jack to secure it in place. Pull the string and washer out of the guitar from the other end of the string.
