    • 1). Go on your computer and get online. Visit a site that offers free invitations, like the one provided here in the resources section. There are also many others.

    • 2). Think about the theme, style and tone of the party you need the invitation for. Look through all the invitation templates to find one that seems appropriate for your party. Download the template or just work with it online through the site.

    • 3). Select the font, size and color for the text. Enter the party information details such as the location, date, time, who the party is for and any special notes in regards to what they should wear, bring, etc. If you want to customize the invitation more, add in some clip art pictures or personal photos.

    • 4). To test, print a sample copy on regular white paper. Proofread it to make sure everything is spelled correctly and the format and layout are what you desire. If not, make corrections and reprint a test page.

    • 5). Print out the actual invitation on cardstock. Use a paper cutter to cut the invitation down to the correct size and give them clean, crisp edges. Then carefully fold the invitations. If you need help creating straight, strong folds, use a ruler. Place the edge of the ruler along the fold line and press the edge of the cardstock up against the ruler to create a starter fold. Then remove the ruler and press the edge down firmly.
