How to Make a Bulletin Board Out of Paper

    • 1). Cut your cardboard to the size you want your finished bulletin board to be. Using the cardboard as a template, lay it on top of a stack of 10 to 15 newspaper sheets and trace it. Cut out the newspaper along the lines you traced. Tape the newspaper to the cardboard so it doesn't slip. One piece of tape per side should work.

    • 2). Take your sheets of decorative paper and wrap the cardboard with it, taping it on the back of the bulletin board. If the paper is not wide enough to cover your cardboard, overlap it 1/2 inch and tape it neatly. You may want to use another sheet of paper to cover the back, but do not overlap it to the front. This is not required as the back will not be seen.

    • 3). Take your ribbon and cut it in lengths 2 inches wider than your bulletin board. Lay it across your board in a pattern such as horizontal, vertical or diagonal stripes. By combining opposing stripes of ribbon, you can make a design that will also hold your photographs more securely. Carefully flip the board over and glue the loose ends of ribbon to the back with the hot glue gun.

    • 4). Cut a 2-foot length of ribbon and hot glue each end to the top two corners of your bulletin board so you can hang it.
