Dierks earns the title of "Entertainer"
< Continued from page 3
I could go on a lot longer, but I just have a couple more quick things I wanted to mention before I wrap up. There was a little part of the stage that came out closer to the audience. Near the end of the show Dierks and several members of the band crowded together on that tiny stage and played a couple of songs, "My Last Name" and a cool bluegrass style song which I believe is called "Train Travelin'." It was a really intimate moment, and a great contrast to the rest of the show which is so high energy.
Finally, I have to mention the encore. Dierks came back out and sang his latest single, "Long Trip Alone," and then he brought all the guys back out on stage to join him singing Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues." They were having a blast on the stage. There was a girl up there taking promotional shots and Dierks stole her camera and got right up close and took pictures of the other guys performing. There was a whole lot of Bud Light floating around once again and when Dierks left he had to turn around a grab his bottle before waving good bye for the last time.
I truly enjoyed the entire night from Eric Church, to Doc Walker, to Dierks himself. They are 3 very different types of performers and put together they make for one terrific show. I am not sure if Doc Walker and Eric Church are playing all the dates on Dierks' Locked and Loaded Tour, but if you have the chance to see a show I say go for it. Dierks is growing in popularity every day and before long it's going to be a lot more difficult to see him in the smaller venues he's playing right now.
