The situations and circumstances that can be a Cause of Anxiety can be fairly common.
Anxiety is actually a normal response we have when we are under pressure or a stressful situation.
However, if this occurs frequently and consistently for prolonged periods of time, it can impact us in many ways.
What are things that can be a Cause of Anxiety? Going through a major life change can be one.
Getting a divorce, moving to a new country or place, getting promoted at work with higher responsibility, etc...
These can add to our daily stress over time or for the period of time that the situation exists.
Major events are another big factor.
Whether it is accidents, loss of someone close, drastic changes or large losses in finances, and many others.
These can often lead to longer term anxiety.
Now that we have talked a little about some of the causes, we can talk about some of the after effects.
Normal anxiety believe it or not can help us.
Under pressure we may find a higher degree of focus, better response, and get more done in less time.
As for longer term effects on anxiety, when it moves outside the range of normal anxiety, it produces negative effects on our lives.
When those around notices the anxiety and stress present, it can contribute some stress to them as well.
We tend to be irritable and snappy.
This can damage good relationships and drive people that are close to us back a little distance.
There are those however that may be understanding and offer their support.
Long term anxiety can lead to anxiety disorder, and potentially panic attacks (periods of time consisting of intense fear and panic).
This can lead down a very distressing path.
Keep a positive outlook, and actively deal with the sources of anxiety before things spiral out of control.
