How to Determine the Shutter Count on a Nikon D70

    Mac OS

    • 1). Take a picture in JPG format with the Nikon D70 and upload it to the computer's desktop. Do not edit it with any Adobe software.

    • 2). Click and hold down the mouse button on the picture file and drag it to the finder bar. Drag the file over the Graphic Converter icon and let go of the mouse button. This will open the picture file in Graphic Converter.

    • 3). Click the "EXIF" tab. The number of shutter clicks will be listed under "Camera Actuations."

    Windows

    • 1). Take a photo in JPG format and upload it to the computer's desktop. Do not edit it with any Adobe software.

    • 2). Download and install the Opanda iExif program. It will automatically integrate with Windows.

    • 3). Right click on the picture file and select "View EXIF/GPS/IPTC with iExif" from the drop-down menu. The number of shutter clicks will be listed under "Total Number of Shutter Releases for Camera."
