Paper Craft Boxes to Make
- Don't throw away greeting cards. Instead, cut them along the fold and save the cover. Use a glue stick to adhere the cards to plain cardboard gift boxes. Then apply one or two coats of decoupage glue over the cards. You won't have to buy gift wrap again. Add ribbon to the gift box and it is ready for the gift table or under the tree.
- Turn an old shoe box into a treasure chest. Select a color to paint the box and lid. Allow them to dry. Once the box and lid are dry, paint on treasure chest decorations, such as straps, and a lock and keyhole. If you do not want to paint the embellishments, you can cut them out of construction paper and glue them on. Now, your child has a box he can keep his own treasure in.
- Make a Valentine's Day Mailbox for your child's Valentines. Glue pink and red construction paper to an old tissue box. Use white construction or computer paper to cover the box. Then, your child can decorate it herself. Tissue paper also works, but can be difficult to glue down so use tape. Do not cover the hole in the top. This is where the cards will go. Add paper hearts and the child's name.
- Create a memory box for a child's birthday, graduation, confirmation or Christmas. Start with an old cigar box. Then, glue the child's name and the date to the outside of the box. Cut out symbols of the his favorite sports and hobbies. Glue down objects from the last year, including photos, awards and ticket stubs.
