Craft Ideas to Sell at Craft Shows
- Simple is always good. It is quick and easy to make friendship bracelets. The basic supplies do not cost much, and they can be enhanced with beads. Make a knot in about 18 inches of embroidery thread. Use as many threads and colors as you want in order to make the bracelet the size you desire. Braid the thread until the bracelet will fit around an average size hand. Tie off the other end. Tie the two ends together and trim the ends so everything is neat and professional looking. If you choose to add beads, then add them while braiding the bracelet.
- Magnets are always a popular item for decorating the refrigerator. Look for a strip of magnetic tape in the craft aisle of the drug store. Magnets can be made of almost anything---try recycled plastic, felt, wooden shapes or silk flowers. Create a variety of designs to use. Use a glue gun to glue the magnet to the design. Even though the magnets have a self-stick back, the adhesive on the magnets does not stick as well as hot glue.
- Seashells remind people of trips to the beach. The nostalgia evoked by the look of the shells is a great selling point. Take small wooden boxes and glue small shells onto the box with a glue gun. Place the shells as close together as you can. Either paint or line the inside of the boxes with felt. Other items you can add shells to are small mirrors and vases.
- Beads come in a variety of styles and are made of materials from crystal to paper. Use fishing line because it is strong and virtually invisible. String together some patterned necklaces. Keep the color patterns constant so it looks like the necklaces where desiged purposefully as opposed to just randomly created. Tie the ends of the necklaces to metal fasteners and thread the loose ends back through the beads. Tie some more fishing line to some metal earring posts and create matching earrings with the same beads. Be sure not to make the earrings too heavy. These can be sold either as a set with the necklace or separately.
