    • 1). Restart your computer and insert the Windows XP disc into your system. Press a button when prompted by the on-screen instructions. This launches the disc.

    • 2). Press "Enter" on the initial installation Window to begin. Press the down arrow to read the license agreement. Press "F8" to agree with the terms.

    • 3). Choose the drive partition you're installing Windows XP. Press "Enter." A progress bar for your file copy appears, as Windows copies files off the disk to your computer. Once this process completes, your computer automatically restarts. The graphical portion of the Windows XP installer begins after the first reboot.

    • 4). Click "Next." Input a name into the "Name" field. You can add an organization if you would like, but you don't have to. Click "Next" and enter XP product key. Click "Next."

    • 5). Input your computer's name. Type an administrator password if you want to set one for your user account. This is not a required field. Click "Next." Change the date, the time and your time zone if the original settings aren't correct. Click "Next" twice and wait for the XP installation software to finish its process.
