What Are The Essential Items To Make Your Camping Trip That Bit Extra Special?

I always get excited when I think about going camping for the first time of the year.
It's always good to plan early as to where you wish to go this year and for how long and what activities you and the family will do.
Let's not forget the camping food either, there is nothing quite like having a nice hot chocolate with marshmallows by the campfire at night.
Camping is designed to be fun, and it is also low cost.
It is when you can enjoy one another's company and get to spend some real quality time with your kids.
Some people like to go the whole hog and have all the top gear such as air mattresses, fridge and even a television.
But some of my greatest experiences camping were roughing it out in the open.
So what items should you take to make it that more memorable? If you are on a budget and only have the main essentials for your camping trip, try packing a few instant barbecues.
These are a great way to experience that outdoor cooking without all of the hassle of purchasing a camping barbecue and all the extras that go with that.
With an instant barbecue you just have a little tray which you light with a match, you then wait half an hour and you can start preparing your food.
They last up to about ninety minutes which is plenty of time to cook enough food for your family.
Make sure you take along some good old fashioned games for you and the kids.
Board games, cards and swing-ball are all great ways to spend time with the family.
In this modern age these activities often get overlooked back at home now due to the television and video games.
Many a time I have tried to get my two daughters to play a board game, but they would much rather watch their favourite television show Some of my friends who go camping never take their dog away with them.
Personally I do, I think it makes the trip that much more enjoyable and fun experience for all.
Not all campsites allow dogs on site but many do now as long as they are well behaved.
There is nothing quite like taking the dog for a walk early in the morning with no one else about in the middle of the countryside, especially if you live in the hustle and bustle of a city.
