Autocratic Leadership

  • The autocratic leadership method is known as a classical style of managing others. In this method, leaders take on full responsibility over the tasks and people they supervise. The four main advantages of this style are that it fosters a less stressful environment, promotes higher levels of productivity, improves logistics of operations and allows decisions to be made much faster. A few disadvantages in using this style are that teams are too reliant on their leaders, managers are prone to take on more responsibility than they can handle and it doesn't allow subordinates to improve their leadership skills.
