How Do I Wire a Pass & Seymour Light Switch?
- 1). Turn off the electricity that supplies the power to the Pass & Seymour light switch by turning off the circuit breaker at the main electrical panel.
- 2). Locate the two black wires inside the switch box that is mounted in the wall. One black wire will be the power supply wire and is connected directly back to the breaker panel. The other black wire is connected directly to the light fixture.
- 3). Wire the Pass & Seymour light switch to the light circuit. Wrap the black power supply wire around the bottom screw on the right side of the switch and tighten the screw holding the wire firmly in place. Wrap the black light fixture wire around the top screw on the right side of the switch and tighten that screw also.
- 4). Install the Pass & Seymour light switch in the switch box. The switch connects to the top and the bottom of the switch box with screws provided with the switch.
- 5). Install the switch plate. The switch plate attaches to the wall with two screws, provided with the switch plate, above and below the exposed toggle.
- 6). Turn on the electricity that supplies the power to the Pass & Seymour light switch by turning the circuit breaker back on at the main electrical panel.
