How to Reset the RAM on a MacBook
- 1). Save any files that you have open to ensure you don't lose any data. Open files are stored in RAM, so any edits you've made since you last saved it to disk will be lost during the reset.
- 2). Close all open programs, including Web browsers, media players and utility applications. Nothing should be showing on your MacBook screen except for your desktop.
- 3). Press the Power button on your MacBook. A small window asking if you are sure you'd like to shut down will pop up. Click "Restart." Your computer will shut down, resetting the RAM, and immediately turn back on.
