How to Plant Soybeans in July
- 1). Prepare the soybean planting area by pulling any weeds and raking out all debris. Dig into the top 10 inches of the soil and smash any large clods of dirt.
- 2). Add 4 inches of compost to the soil and mix it into the top 10 inches using a gardening fork. Rake the bed until it is level and smooth.
- 3). Push the soybean seeds down 1 inch into the soil, spacing them 2 inches apart. If planting more than one row, space the rows 20 inches apart.
- 4). Water with a garden hose until the soil is wet to a depth of 8 inches. Keep an eye on the moisture content of the soil because it can dry out quickly in July.
