How to Use 2 Sound Cards With XP
- 1). Go to your "Start" menu and click on "Control Panel." You can also access your Control Panel by clicking "Run" in your Start menu, typing "control" in the text box, and clicking "OK." Accessing "Run" can also be done by holding the "WIN" key (the little key with a windows icon on it) and pressing "R."
- 2). Click on "Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices" and click on "Sounds and Audio Devices." You could also do all this by accessing "Run" and writing "control mmsys.cpl sounds".
- 3). Click the "Audio" tab near the top of the "Sound and Audio Devices Properties" window. You will see a device selected for sound playback, sound recording and MIDI music playback. You can switch primary sound cards here, and all programs will output through it by default. The card you will select for sound playback refers to the one which your programs will use to output sound and music. The card you select for sound recording refers to the one through which you will record sounds.
