How to Make Karaoke CDs From Regular CDs
- 1). Download and install the Mixcraft 2.0 trial program onto your computer. A sound card or USB device is necessary in order for the program to function properly.
- 2). Download and install the Extra Boy Vocal Removal VST plug-in on Mixcraft 2.0. Restart Mixcraft for the plug-in to take effect.
- 3). Choose the track or tracks you want to make into a karaoke song. This part requires some experimentation in order to achieve the best quality. Some songs will sound better than others, particularly those that lack too much background noise and already have a clearly distinguished sound.
- 4). Load your chosen song in Mixcraft. Click the FX button on Track 1. From the dialog box, choose "Select New Effect To Add'" and click on the Extra Boy plugin. This will load and apply the plugin to your project. Select "Full Spectrum (HR)" from the preset menu. This high resolution preset gives the track a clearer sound.
- 5). Play the track in Mixcraft to hear the result. If you are happy with the way your karaoke track sounds, save the file as an MP3 or WAV. Repeat the process until you have the desired number of songs.
- 6). Open whatever MP3 music playback software you have installed on your computer (i.e. iTunes, Windows, etc). Use the import option to add your new karaoke songs to the playlist and burn to a blank CD.
