Jefferson Lake RV Campground, Rigby, Idaho
About.com Rating
This is a seasonal lake in the town where I live. We thought it would be fun to camp at a spot we know our grandkids like. We camped there in August 2007.
Describe your camping trip:
This is a nice fee based campground situated around a man made lake. There is swimming with shallow sandy areas for children, non motorized boating and play areas with equipment for children. A nice road around the lake for morning walks and one way driving.
This park is very family friendly, and pets are allowed.
Pros: We were here on Labor day weekend, and it was a little busy but generally quite. The lake is surrounded by trees, so there are spots for shaded camping. Accommodates tents to RVs. There are trash cans at every site and a couple of vaulted restrooms. There are picnic areas and paved walking paths. Kids have a blast here swimming and rafting and exploring. Fee is $5 a night as of this posting.
Cons: This is not a wilderness campground, and it is close to Highway 20. There is highway noise in the evening.
Nearby attractions: Riot Zone Family Fun Park has miniature golf, bumper boats, corn maze and more just outside the campgrounds. Not far (10 miles?) is Bear World, a wild life park. There are a lot of fishing sites along the Snake River.
Further comments:
This is a nice campground, and you can't beat $5 a night.
