How to Record a Scratched CD
- 1). Pour 4 cups--about a quart--of water into a bowl.
- 2). Add a drop of dishwashing liquid and mix.
- 3). Dampen a lint-free cloth and gently wipe the readable side of the CD from the inside out.
- 4). Hold the readable side of your disc up to a light source, and locate the scratches.
- 5). Put a bit of toothpaste on a lint-free cloth, and gently rub the paste into the scratches with the cloth.
- 6). Rinse the disc under warm water from the tap, then dry it with a clean, lint-free cloth.
- 1). Turn on your computer, open your CD-burning software, and insert the repaired CD into your disc drive.
- 2). Click the "Import" tab on your disc-burning software, and go to "File > New Playlist." Type in a name for your playlist.
- 3). Click, drag and drop the imported repaired CD file into your playlist.
- 4). Insert a blank CD-R into your CD drive, and click the "Burn" tab in the disc-burning software.
