How to Put More Springs in an Airsoft Gun
- 1). Remove the magazine from the butt of the Airsoft gun by pressing on the release latch on one side of the handle and pulling the magazine out of the bottom of the handle.
- 2). Cock the firing mechanism of the Airsoft gun. Open the lid of a toilet and fire the Airsoft gun into the water in the bowl to ensure that no projectiles are still inside.
- 3). Put a bath towel on a work surface and place the Airsoft gun on its side on the bath towel. The barrel should face to the left.
- 4). Remove the screws from the top left edge on the barrel and from the top right edge by the hammer using the Phillips screwdriver.
- 5). Turn the Airsoft gun over on the bath towel and repeat Step 4, removing the two screws from similar locations on that side using the Phillips screwdriver.
- 6). Hold the Airsoft gun in your left hand. Stand the Airsoft gun up on the bath towel with the barrel pointing away from you.
- 7). Insert the tip of the Phillips screwdriver into the gap at the top back of the Airsoft gun just in front of the hammer. The screwdriver should be in your right hand. Wiggle the tip of the Phillips screwdriver to release the sliding plate at the top.
- 8). Slide the sliding plate toward the barrel and remove it from the Airsoft gun.
- 9). Remove the firing mechanism that was underneath the sliding plate by pulling it up and out of the Airsoft gun with your fingers. Put the firing mechanism down on the bath towel with the back end facing to the right.

Insert the tip of the Phillips screwdriver beneath the spring that is inside one end of the firing mechanism. - 11
Wiggle the tip of the Phillips screwdriver to loosen one end of the spring from the hub holding it on the firing mechanism. Remove the end of the spring from the hub with your fingers. Remove the other end of the spring from the hub using your fingers. - 12
Remove the spring from the firing mechanism. Place the spring on the bath towel. - 13
Purchase two springs from a hardware store that are half the length and the same diameter as the spring that was in the firing mechanism. - 14
Place one of the two springs purchased into the firing mechanism so it goes over the hub at the back end. - 15
Place the original spring into the firing mechanism in front of the spring that is now against the back end. - 16
Place the other spring that was purchased into the firing mechanism in front of the original spring. Place the front end of the spring over the hub at the front of the firing mechanism. The goal is to have three springs coiling and compressing as one in the space that used to have just one spring coiled and compressed. - 17
Place the firing mechanism back into the top of the Airsoft gun. - 18
Slide the sliding plate back onto the top of the Airsoft gun so that it covers the firing mechanism. - 19
