Herbs for Grey Hair
- The Chinese herb Ho Shou Wu is one of the most popular natural treatments for grey hair. Ho Shou Wu means "A head full of black hair" in Chinese. It is more commonly known as Polygonim Multiflorum in English. The Chinese believe that grey hair and hair loss are the direct result of problems with a person's liver and kidneys. Ho Shou Wu contains natural nutrients that the Chinese claim improve the condition of a person's liver and kidneys, thus reversing the greying process in hair.
Ginger, mulberry and curry are also natural herbs that are used to treat grey hair. Ginger is eaten when mixed with honey. Mulberry and Curry are sometimes boiled so the oil can be used to treat grey hair directly. - Oils produced from natural herbs are also used to treat grey hair. Emu, sage, thyme and rosemary oils are either used on their own, or are added to shampoos to combat grey hair. There are shampoos that can be found in health food stores that are made with some of these natural oils designed to treat grey hair. These oils can also be added to traditional shampoos.
- Grey hair is also treated with B-Complex vitamins. A Vitamin B deficiency is believed to be one of the causes of premature greying. B-Complex vitamins can be found at most any grocery or drug store in a tablet or capsule form.
