Mangosteen Juice and Nutrition Supplements Are Different

105 6
There is a difference between drinking Mangosteen juice and taking nutrition supplements. This article will outline the differences between drinking Mangosteen juice and taking nutrition supplements to keep you healthy and well. Before outlining the differences, here are some definitions, in case you haven't heard some of these terms before. Each and every day your body's 63 trillion cells are constantly being bombarded by unstable molecules called "free radicals".

Free radicals are responsible for many effects of again. These unstable molecules lose electrons and "borrow" them from a healthy cell, destroying that cell in the process.
These electrons then ricochet all over your body, damaging healthy cells from your blood, skin, bones and your internal organs.
Free radical eventually breaks into your cell membranes and destroys the DNA inside.

Antioxidants

To combat the free radical chain, your body uses something called antioxidants. These are naturally occurring compounds which help prevent or delay oxidative damage to the body, tissues and cells. Antioxidants may inhibit the harmful effects of free radicals, which scientists believe may contribute to serious health challenges.

You probably get a lot of antioxidants if you eat a good well-balanced diet, for example:

* Vitamin D - Found in salmon, tuna fish, liver, milk, beef, eggs and direct sunlight.
* Vitamin C - Found in broccoli, bell peppers, green leafy vegetables, citrus fruits, kale and cauliflower.
* Beta Carotene - Found in carrots, collard greens, squash, and spinach.

Other antioxidants are more concentrated, but a bit harder to come by. One such food source is Mangosteen, dubbed the "superfruit" and "Queen of All fruits".

The Mangosteen Fruit
Mangosteen has been used for centuries by Asian health practitioners for it's tremendous nutritional benefits and delicious flavor.

Xanthones in the Mangosteen Fruit

Xanthones have been the subject of intensive research recently. They've been found to be most abundant in the pericarp (the ripened inside walls) of the Mangosteen fruit.

With all the different kinds of Mangosteen juices on the market, and the different nutritional supplements with the Mangosteen in them, what's the best way to see which ones provide the most benefits from these xanthones?

One way is to check for independent laboratory tests performed on a particular product, to see how many xanthones are contained within it. Research shows that the main source of xanthones is the pericarp and the seeds of the Mangosteen, so the highest quality Mangosteen juice products should include those.

Differences between Mangosteen Juice and a Good Quality Nutrition Supplement

The difference between Mangosteen juice and a good quality nutritional supplement is that the supplement will have additional nutrients such as the full spectrum of vitamins and plant based minerals, and perhaps other ingredients such as green tea and aloe vera.

When the antioxidant-rich power of Mangosteen is combined with plant-sourced minerals, vitamins, decaffeinated organic green tea and organic glyconutrient-rich aloe vera, there will be more nutritional benefits.

So, high quality nutrition supplements containing Mangosteen juice, are not the same as Mangosteen juice by itself.

1) Independent tests done which compare the amount of nutrients within the particular product,

2) Other nutrients contained within the supplement.
