How to Make Finger Puppet People Using Film Containers or Pill Bottles
Use these craft instructions to make your own finger puppets that look like people.
The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Make sure your empty film container or pill bottle is clean and dry. Choose a piece of felt the color you want your person's skin to be. Cut a piece of that felt big enough to cover the entire outside of the film container or pill bottle, including the bottom. Glue the felt in place.
The bottom of the film container will actually be the top of your finger puppet person's head so keep this in mind when decorating your finger puppet. Create clothes for your person using felt. These can be as simple or as fancy as you like. I simply used a small rectangle cut from blue felt and glued it around edge of the film container.
Make the arms and legs using chenille stems. Cut a chenille stem in half and wrap it around a pen or pencil to get make it look spiraled. Glue them in place. If you like, you can cut small feet and.pr hands out of felt and glue them to the ends of the chenille stems. I added feet using blue felt, but I did not add hands.
Glue two wiggle eyes in place. Now you can get creative with your person. Add hair and a mouth using piece of yarn. You can add a nose using a small pom-pom or anything else you have on hand. Use your imagination to create a variety of different people.
Once all of the glue is dry, you can slip your new puppet on your finger and put on a puppet show. You can create a wide variety of finger puppet characters using these directions and your own craft supplies.
