How to Paint Red Scorpions
- 1). Dip a paintbrush into the red paint, allowing any excess paint to drip off the brush before moving it to a piece of art paper or canvas.
- 2). Paint a long, oblong shape that is slightly tapered at both ends to create the body of the scorpion.
- 3). Paint a long curved line extending from the right end of the scorpion body and forming a backwards "C" shape, with the tip curling up over the top of the scorpion to create the tail. Form the tip of the tail into a sharp point for the stinger. Create sections on the underside of the tail by adding short lines between the top and bottom line of the tail, for a total of six almost rectangular shapes down the length of the tail.
- 4). Paint four curved, evenly proportioned spider-like legs on each side of the body and two large, lobster-like claws curving around from the head section across the front of the scorpion for claws.
- 5). Dip a paintbrush into the black paint, allowing any excess paint to drip off the brush before moving it to the art paper or canvas.
- 6). Paint a thin line across each separate section on the tail, vertical lines down the body of the scorpion to create additional sections, on the tip of the stinger and on the underside of the scorpion to create shadowing and add definition.
- 7). Paint two small dots for eyes on the head to finish the image. Repeat to create as many red scorpions as desired.
