    • 1). Press the "Power" button to shut the Okidata C3200N printer down. Wait for the machine to power off, then remove the power cord.

    • 2). Open the top cover and remove all four toner cartridges. Sit the toner cartridges on a work surface covered with a cloth or paper towels. That will protect the work surface from leaking toner, which could stain the desk or table.

    • 3). Vacuum the interior of the printer thoroughly to remove paper dust and toner residue. Over time small amounts of toner leak out of the cartridges, and buildup can contaminate the entire paper path. A small vacuum like the kind used to clean computers works best, but you can use a crevice tool and a handheld vacuum as well.

    • 4). Wipe the interior of the printer with a soft cloth to remove any remaining debris. Continue to clean the printer until no more ink residue comes off on the cloth.

    • 5). Turn each of the toner cartridges over and clean the bottom thoroughly. Use a soft cloth to clean away any toner residue or dirt from the surface. Place each toner cartridge back in the printer after it is cleaned.

    • 6). Load three or four laser printer cleaning sheets into the paper tray and power the printer back on. Run the laser printer cleaning sheets through the printer to clean the paper path. These sheets have a slightly sticky surface, allowing them to grab dust and dirt from the paper path as they move through the printer.
