How to Make Herbal Lotion with Beeswax
- 1). Place a double boiler on the stove over medium-high heat. Grate or break up the beeswax, add the wax, then add the oils. Stir it gently until the beeswax has completely melted, then remove it from the heat.
- 2). Pour this wax substance into your blender, or a large glass bowl.
- 3). In a cooking pan, mix the water with the baking soda. Stir it until it is completely dissolved, and keep it on medium-high heat until it comes to a boil.
- 4). Gently add the water mixture to the blender or bowl as well. Blend the mixture on high, or use a whisk or fork to mix the ingredients together. It will thicken as it cools.
- 5). Let the mixture sit to cool.
- 6). Stir in your essential oils or powdered herbs until they are well blended. For most batches, five drops of essential oil will be plenty, and 1 tsp. of powdered herbs. Experiment with this amount for your ideal scent.
- 7). Pour the lotion into a container with a lid, then store it in a cool, dark place. Once completely cool, it's ready to use.
