How to Remove a Rear Wiper Motor

    • 1). Detach the vehicle's negative battery cable from the battery post with an open-end wrench. Pry off the rear wiper arm's cover with a flat head screwdriver.

    • 2). Unscrew the nut that secures the rear wiper arm with the open-end wrench and take the wiper arm off the vehicle. Remove the nut on the rear wiper pivot bolt with the open-end wrench and set the nut and pivot bolt to the side.

    • 3). Open the vehicle's rear door and unfasten the screws that hold the rear cover over the wiper motor with the flat head screwdriver. Take the rear cover off the interior panel of the vehicle.

    • 4). Disconnect the two electric defogger connectors inside the panel and remove the two nuts holding the wiper arm assembly with the open-end wrench. Unfasten the electric wiring connector from the motor by hand.

    • 5). Unplug the junction switch and remove the three screws holding the motor to the vehicle's frame with the screwdriver. Slide the rear wiper motor out of the interior panel and remove it from the vehicle.
