How to Design Flexible Track Lighting
- 1). Determine the placement of the track. The general rule is to place the track 18 to 36 inches away from the wall. If the ceiling is very high, the track should be placed farther from the wall. Place the track in an area where the lights will be best utilized. For a larger room, you may need two or more tracks.
- 2). Place the lighting heads in different spaces along the track. Use your room as a guide for placement of the light fixtures. Track lighting is best used to accent or use for task lighting. Because of the flexibility of the lighting, you can have different lights facing different sections of the room, lighting up different features and areas.
- 3). Turn the lights on and adjust the placement of the lights if needed.
