How to Tune a Strumstick
- 1). Lay a three-string Strumstick across your lap so the strings face upward and you can reach the tuner buttons with your dominant hand.
- 2). Lay a chromatic tuner on the body of the Strumstick so the tuner's microphone faces the strings.
- 3). Turn on the tuner.
- 4). Strike the lowest string on the Strumstick, and observe the note indicated on the tuner's display.
- 5). Turn the corresponding tuner button counterclockwise to raise the pitch of the string, and turn it clockwise to lower the pitch. Always start below the correct pitch and tighten up to it to keep the string in tension. Tune the lowest string to G in this fashion.
- 6). Tune the middle string to D.
- 7). Tune the highest string to G, but one octave higher than the lowest string's G.
