• 1). Press the #06# keys on the Blackberry 8300 and then the "Call" button. Look for the 15-digit international mobile equipment identity (IMEI) number. Write the number down.
  
  
• 2). Go to the phone unlock service and type in the IMEI number in the appropriate box.
  
  
• 3). Open your email account to receive the unlock code once you have paid for the service. Read through the unlocking instructions included in the email. These will differ slightly depending on the carrier you use. Continue to the section that applies to the appropriate carrier.
  
  

Method 1

• 1). Turn on the phone, go to "Settings" and select "SIM Card Settings." Simultaneously hold the "Shift" key and Type "MEPD" and notice the different unlocking categories that appear. If the previous phone carrier was Vodafone, you will need to type "MEPDD" instead.
  
  
• 2). Simultaneously hold the "Shift" key again and type "MEP2." Again, if using a Vodafone, type "MEPP2" instead of simply "MEP2."
  
  
• 3). Type in the unlock code in the dialog box that is now showing on the screen.
  
  
• 4). Press "Enter" and restart the phone to finish the unlocking process.
  
  

Method 2

• 1). Press the "BlackBerry" key. Select the "Options" menu and choose "Advanced Options." Choose the "SIM Card" option.
  
  
• 2). Type "MEPPD"--even if no box appears to type it in--and the unlocking levels will appear. Type "MEPP2" and input the unlocking code that was sent to you.
  
  
• 3). Press "Enter" and restart the phone. It should now be unlocked.
  
  

T-Mobile

• 1). Select the "Tools" icon and choose "Settings." Use the arrow buttons to move the selection down to the SIM Card settings.
  
  
• 2). Notice the phone number and SIM card I.D. number. Type "mepd" and "mepd2."
  
  
• 3). Type in the unlock code you received in your email. Press enter and then turn the phone off and then on again.
