    • 1). Drive your car to your local auto air conditioning repair center and ask them to remove the Freon from your A/C system. You have a professional to do the job because it is against the law to release Freon into the atmosphere.

    • 2). Open the hood of your Silverado and loosen the the clamp bolt on the negative battery terminal with a socket wrench. Remove the negative cable from the terminal.

    • 3). Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws attached to the lower dash panels and the glove compartment. Lift the panels away from the dash and set aside.

    • 4). Use a socket wrench to remove the mounting bolts attached to the A/C module, and remove it from the lower dash. Slide the evaporator away from the lower housing and replace it with the new one.

    • 5). Place the A/C module back into the bottom of the dash and reattach it with the mounting bolts. Replace the dash panels and glove compartment in dash and reattach their screws. Place the cable back on the negative terminal of the battery and secure the clamp. Have your air conditioning system refilled with Freon.
