How to Know When a Processor Is Bad
- 1). Check to see if your computer freezes at random moments. Unexpected freezing could be a sign that your processor is bad.
- 2). Turn on your computer for a while and let it run. Turn your computer off, take off its case and touch the processor with your index finger. If the processor is too hot to touch for more than a few minutes than it is overheating and could be going bad.
- 3). Turn on your computer. If your computer fails to load its operating system, you may have a bad processor.
- 4). Swap your computer's processor out with a working one and see if the problems you've been having persist. If they do, your processor could be bad.
