Overcome Fear and Lead a Fulfilling Life
There are 6 Essential Skills for maintaining your motivation mojo and the third of these skills is Cultivating Courage.
When your locus of operation is from a place of fear your motivation is severely inhibited.
It becomes virtually impossible to do anything.
You experience very little if any forward movement and your feelings of well being quickly sink to an all time low.
To cultivate more courage you have to practice conscious conditioning.
Conscious conditioning is being actively aware of what's going on and strategically selecting a new mindset to replace & repair what isn't working for you.
My favorite definition of courage is from the therapist Rollo May: "courage is not the absence of fear, but the ability to move forward despite fear or doubt.
" To cultivate more courage it is necessary to develop a mindset of always moving forward.
Taking small steps is essential because the more movement you take on the more you will reveal to yourself that you can do it.
Courage is a mental skill that can be cultivated.
The more you step out the stronger your confidence will become.
You must practice conscious conditioning to increase your courage to the level that will dissipate the fear.
Courage works to deactivate our deepest fears: F-false, E-evidence, A-appearing, R-real.
Here are 3 steps to consciously condition yourself to cultivate more courage that have helped me many times over: Face the Fear - acknowledge & embrace the seeming risk & vulnerability.
Move forward anyway.
Your gain will outweigh the perceived risk.
Get Informed - Learn as much as you need to to create a new comfort zone of abundant empowerment.
Take Action - take a small step, then a larger step, then a far bolder step.
When you look back over your shoulder the fear you once thought was real will no longer be there.
I encourage you to move forward NOW despite fear or doubt.
You''ll begin to cultivate the courage you need which will result in more motivation to live the life you truly desire.
Trust me, you will never regret it!
