Hp Warranty Is Not Only Effective In North America But Is Recognized All Over The World
Based in Palo Alto, California, HP or Hewlett-Packard Company is primarily noted throughout the world for manufacturing Personal Computers for home use. However, the company also specializes in manufacturing computing, data storage, and networking hardware as also an array of imaging products and software. However, the warranty coverage for these products, such as are offered by HP, differs from product to product. For instance, a parts warranty for a HP PC would greatly differ from that which covers a HP DeskJet Printer.
However, here is an overview of HP Warranty that describes the types of warranty as also where and how it becomes applicable.
HP Limited Warranty Statement involving PCs, Notebooks, Laptops, etc:
HP Limited Warranty is applicable only to HP branded (also Compaq branded) hardware items that are purchased or leased from Hewlett Packard Company, all its overseas subsidies, affiliates, authorized distributors, resellers and country distributors. However, it does not cover software applications or programs, non-HP branded products or peripherals external to HP Hardware products. The Limited Warranty period commences from the date of purchase or lease from the Company (HP). It may also be considered effective from the day HP has completed the installation. However, this date is the key issue when asking for replacement of repair of faulty equipment purchased or lased from the Company. So also is the invoice or the document relating to the device acquired by the user?
How HP honors the Warranty:
The Company either repairs or replaces HP Hardware product that are found faulty using new materials or used materials that are considered as good as new both in performance and reliability or an equivalent product if the defective item has become outdated and hence no more in circulation. These replacement parts or components are also warranted by the Company to be free of any defect both in workmanship and material quality for a period of 90 days or till the end of the Warranty period. Incidentally, all the faulty parts and components that have been removed from the repaired unit automatically becomes the property of the Company on which no on else may hold any claim. However, in extremely rare occasions when a HP Hardware product shows signs of perpetual problem, HP, at its absolute discretion, may replace the item with a similar product. Sometimes, the entire purchase price (less interest) is refunded to irate customers.
HP Warranty is globally recognized:
HP Warranty is valid in most world countries, provided the same is transferred from one country to another. For example, warranty for a HP Laptop purchased in Hong Kong will be considered valid in New Delhi if the purchaser requests the HP Hong Kongqs to transfer the same to HP New Delhi. Needless to say, it will become effective only if HP or its accredited agents presence is established in the other country.
HP is not responsible for any loss of data:
Prior to sending any HP Hardware product for repair/replacement, the user must take back up copies because HP does not hold itself responsible for any loss of such data or program.
