How Do You Write a Bar in Hip-Hop Music?
- 1). Download multi-track music software. Go to the software website and follow the instructions to download. Find the file on your computer. Double-click to start installing. Follow the instructions in the dialog to install the software. Open the software and make sure it's working properly. Download Hip Hop music loops. Use drum breaks, funk and real instrument samples for an old-school sound. Use sequenced drum loops and synthesizer sounds to make more modern Hip Hop.
- 2). Open your multi-track music software. Create a new file: "File ---> New" or similar command. Open the folder where the drum loop you want to use is saved and drag it onto the new file. Check that you see a picture of the sound in the file window. Make your loop the right length. Drag the right hand marker in the transport control to the end of your drum loop. Make sure your music software is set to loop. Press the loop button or similar command. Press the play button. Make sure that the loop is in time when it repeats.
- 3). Create a new track in your software. Find the folder where the bass loop you want to use is saved and drag it onto the second track. Get the bass loop in time with the drum loop. Use the handles on the end of the file to drag the file so it is exactly the same length as the drum loop. Measure the length of the drum loop if this is not part of the software and use the time-stretch command to make it the right length. Play the file and make sure that both loops are in time together. Adjust if necessary.
- 4). Drag instrument and synthesizer sounds from folders on your computer to new tracks in the software. Cut the instrument sounds so that they fit your bass and drum loop. Use the "Cut tool" or a similar command. Change the pitch of the instrument sounds if they are out of key. Use the pitch "Up" and "Down" buttons on the track if you have them, or use the "Pitch Shift" command in the software menus. Change the pitches until the instruments and synthesizers sound good with your bass-line and each other.
- 5). Move the volume controls at the start of the track or similar controls. Listen to how the tracks sound together. Change the volumes of the different tracks until they sound good together. Listen to your finished bar of Hip Hop music, which can be the base of your Hip Hop song.
