How to Lay Allure Flooring

    • 1). Sweep the floor of all dust and debris. Lay one Allure floorboard next to the wall where you want to start the flooring. Stand two shims thick-side down between the board and the wall to create a space there.

    • 2). Attach the rest of the first row of Allure boards together, end to end, by the connection lips at the edges. Press them tightly together to form tight seals between the boards. Put shims all along the edges were the boards meet the wall, to keep a gap there.

    • 3). Cut the final board in the row to fit, by running a utility knife next to a straight-edge over the board, then snapping the board.

    • 4). Lay the next rows alongside the first, connecting the boards along their edges. Start each row at the opposite end as the last one, so the ends of the boards are staggered between rows. Work your way across the whole floor.

    • 5). Cut the final row of boards along their lengths, if necessary, so they will fit. Leave a space by the ending wall, about the width of a shim. Pull up the shims.

    • 6). Install floor trim around the edges of the floor, cutting it on a miter saw and nailing it to the wall, not through the floor. The trim will cover the gaps at the edges of the floor, and will hold the floor down.
