How to Make a Swimwear Cover-Up
- 1). Cut a rectangle of fabric approximately 40 inches wide by 70 inches long. The more fabric you use in the length, the more your pareo will drape. If you want to save on sewing, choose a width (such as 36- or 44-inch widths) of fabric that will allow you to avoid having to sew the selvage edges.
- 2). Pin a half-inch hem around the edges of your fabric. To ensure the fabric does not fray, fold the fabric over one-quarter inch, and then fold it over itself once more.
- 3). Load your sewing machine with thread in a coordinating color, and sew around the edges. If you do not have access to a sewing machine, you can hand-sew the edges.
