How to Install Fog Lights on a 1997 Jeep Cherokee
- 1). Drive your Cherokee to a flat and well-lit area such as a driveway or parking lot. Turn it off, and let the Jeep cool for 10 minutes before working on it.
- 2). Slide under the nose of the truck directly behind the burned-out fog light. Locate the wiring harness that delivers power to the fog light assembly.
- 3). Squeeze the base of the plug where it connects to the light assembly, and pull it free. The wiring harness should now hang free of the assembly.
- 4). Locate the mounting bolts on the sides of the fog light assembly. Use a wrench to loosen and remove these bolts. Turn each one to the left to remove them. Slide the assembly out from the nose of the Cherokee.
- 5). Unscrew the old bulb by twisting it to the left. Insert the replacement bulb, twisting it to the right.
- 6). Reassemble the fog light into the nose of the Cherokee. Slide the assembly in, and fasten it with the mounting bolts. Plug in the wiring harness.
