How to Do a Crab Stitch on Knitting

    • 1). Begin with the outside of the garment facing toward you and attach the yarn at the left edge of the knitting, at the center back of the neck opening, or the seam under the arm.

    • 2). Insert the crochet hook into the first knit stitch. Wrap the yarn clockwise around the shaft of the hook and pull a loop through the fabric. One loop is now on the hook.

    • 3). Push the crochet hook into the next knitted stitch to the right. Wrap the yarn clockwise around the shaft of the hook and pull another loop through the fabric. Two loops should now be on the hook.

    • 4). Wrap the yarn clockwise around the hook once more to make a loop. Pull this loop through both loops on the crochet hook. This completes one crab stitch.

    • 5). Repeat steps 3 and 4 to complete the remaining crab stitches.
