Beating Social Anxiety - Get Rid of It for Good

Social anxiety is a harsh version of the normal anxiety that most people feel.
The thing to remember here is that all people feel anxiety: being nervous.
The problem is when it spins out of control and you can no longer control it.
So how do you get rid of social anxiety disorder? By regaining control.
Treatment is not something you can avoid.
You can't conquer something if you don't face it.
If you want to get rid of it for good, you have to be pro-active in your choice.
Anything you choose to do in fighting social anxiety will be your treatment, not just visiting a doctor.
That's okay, as long as you find a method that works for you.
There are different things you can do to treat social anxiety.
You can go talk with a therapist.
There is nothing wrong with therapy, but I realize that sometimes we want to explore our options before taking that course of action.
Or perhaps you don't feel comfortable with speaking with a stranger over your problems.
Maybe working you way up to being able to speak with someone can be a goal for you.
This could be a social challenge for you to overcome, show you that you are taking steps in the right direction.
Remember our brain is a muscle, and so it benefits greatly from exercise.
They produce relaxing endorphins, just like exercising does.
Walking a mile, some dancing, or other exercise programs would exercise the body, and as a byproduct, the mind as well.
You don't have to leave the house to exercise, there are many programs to choose from to use in front of your TV.
Meditation and yoga are low stress exercises that help too.
Having relaxing techniques under your belt will help you be able to put your mind into a calm state, even if it's just for a little bit.
You can then use the feeling of relaxation you learn from, meditating for example, to use in times when it anxiety starts gripping in.
Practice calming down when you feel anxiety building up.
This will help calming yourself down more than just hearing someone telling you to relax.
The more you practice, a little bit each day, will help get rid of the anxiety feeling that builds.
You are building yourself up with a new skill.
So if you stumble on the way, dust yourself off and get try again.
Don't let negativity override the new positive experiences you are learning stop you.
And don't forget to believe in yourself.
