How to Get Aluminum Rub Out of Clothes
- 1). Check your clothing fabric label to see if there are any recommended cleaning products and anything that cannot be used on it. For sheer or delicate fabrics, professional cleaning is recommended.
- 2). Lay the article of clothing on a flat surface. Lay an old towel or other cloth you don't mind discarding afterward underneath the clothing to protect the surface.
- 3). Blot the stain with paper towel. Wet the stain with water and blot again.
- 4). Mix a small amount of oxygen-based detergent in a cup with some water. Spread some of the soap mixture on the stain, covering it completely. Let it saturate the clothing for a few minutes.
- 5). Wet the tip of a cloth rag and use it to blot the stain. Continue blotting until all of the soap is removed.
- 6). Wet the stain again if it still remains. Sprinkle white spirit (an organic cleaning solvent) on the stain. Allow the white spirit to dry and then brush the dried white spirit away. Wash the article of clothing as usual.
