    • 1). Carefully rinse and dry all of your bottle caps to rid them of beverage residue. Set them out in a row on a flat, sturdy surface. Choose the ones you want to use; you may use all the same kind of beverage or vary them for a more eclectic look.

    • 2). Flip over your first bottle cap and tip it up so the side rests on your flat surface. Place a finishing nail against the inside of the cap's edge and tap it sharply with a hammer to create a small hole. Repeat will all of your bottle caps.

    • 3). Pry open jump rings with your round-nosed pliers and slip one through the hole in each of your bottle caps. Push them closed with your pliers. Jump rings are small, metal rings used to link pieces of jewelry together.

    • 4). Cut a piece of leather cord about 6 inches longer than necessary to fit around your neck or wrist. Slip the jump ring of one of your caps to the center of the cord and knot the cord around the ring. Continue knotting caps onto your bracelet or necklace, spacing the caps about 1/2 inch apart.

    • 5). Create earrings by slipping the bottom loop of a fishhook earring hook through a jump ring before you close it as in Step 3. Make matching earrings or mismatch them on purpose.

    Pushpins

    • 1). Rinse the beverage residue from your bottle caps under warm water. Gently dry them to ensure that the glue sticks later on.

    • 2). Flip all of your bottle caps over on a flat, clean surface so the graphics lay against the table. Squeeze a drop of hot glue onto the center back of each bottle cap.

    • 3). Press a thumbtack into each drop of hot glue, keeping them as straight up and down as possible. Allow the glue to dry overnight before using your new pushpins on your cork board.
