The New Age of Television for the Householder

The 20th century saw TV reach dizzying heights, with technology and programming leaping further than anyone would have predicted.
Yet the 21st century, even with global recession and money worries on a massive scale, has ushered in an era of technological advance in television media that has the masses crying for more.
There is no doubt that the decreasing prices for brand new 32 inch and 40 inch plasma, led, LCD and 3D TVs has fueled a rapid decline in the sector of television repair.
One might expect in an age of austerity that people would repair rather than buy, but electronic consumables have been buoyant with the result that old TVs tend to be sold off or dumped.
Most television faults that surface in modern TVs can easily be repaired by a qualified technician or engineer at a competitive price - certainly much less than would be paid out for replacement.
Panels and circuit boards may sometimes seem to be expensive to replace, but repair costs are still usually about 40-60% less than an equivalent new purchase.
The average householder when confronted by a television fault should not remove the back of the TV (it voids the warranty - and if your TV is out of warranty, it's still highly dangerous), but should call a repair professional, television engineer, or TV service center.
LED TVs, LCD TVs, Plasma TVs and 3D TVs from all manufacturers can be serviced and repaired at designated service centers, and they should always be your first port of call when something goes wrong.
Some of them even offer call-outs which deals with the problem of unplugging, lifting and transporting the television.
Most require a small deposit used in the diagnosing of the fault.
They will subsequently call you or contact you to tell you what the fault is, how much it will take to repair and an estimated time-frame for the completion of the repairs.
Good service centers and television engineers ensure that your TV has a full service (other parts are checked for a potential to go faulty in the future) whilst your faulty television is in their hands, thus giving you some more peace of mind.
For those who do not always have to be at the cutting edge of technology, and are wishing to preserve their cash in a sensible manner, TV repair is an option to consider rather than rushing out to listen to the patter of a sales person and part with their hard-earned cash.
