    • 1). Access the Control Panel. You may be able to access your Device Manager using your Control Panel. The Control Panel is usually accessed by clicking on your "Start" button in the bottom left-hand corner of your computer. Then search for the words "Control Panel" in the menu; left-click it.

    • 2). Bring up Device Manager. On the Control Panel, your Device Manager may be under the "Performance and Maintenance" section; left-click it. Then click "System." On the tab that is labeled "Hardware," select "Device Manager."

    • 3). Identify Tecra S1 hardware. The Device Manager will list all of the hardware that is recognizable on your laptop. You will see an organizational tree with sections naming the type of hardware, such as "Disk Drives," "Keyboards" and "Monitors." By each name you may have a "+" (plus) or "-" (minus) sign preceding it; clicking the plus will expand the list, and clicking minus will contract it.

When you expand the hardware type name, such as "Processor," you will see the manufacturer/company. For example: "Intel." You can also right-click the manufacturer and select "Properties" for even greater detail.
